Wendy’s Names Matt Spessard as New CIO
The Wendy’s Company has announced the appointment of Matt Spessard as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). Spessard, who has been with the company since May 2020, will take over the role from Kevin Vasconi, the outgoing CIO, who has held the position since October 2020.
BlackLine Names Sumit Johar as New CIO
BlackLine, a leader in digital finance transformation, announced that Sumit Johar has been appointed as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective immediately. Johar, a veteran in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and intelligent automation industry, will report directly to Co-CEO Therese Tucker and manage the company’s global Information Technology and Information Security operations.
Fidelity Life Names Angela Henderson as New CIO
New Zealand’s largest locally owned life insurer Fidelity Life has secured the services of one of New Zealand’s top technology executives, with Angela Henderson set to take on the role of chief information officer from early May 2024. Currently GM digital at Kiwi Property Group, Henderson has more than 15 years’ experience in financial services in New Zealand and the UK and has held digital and transformation leadership roles at Air New Zealand, Westpac NZ, and Ports of Auckland. She is also a strong advocate for women in business and technology.
Appalachian State Names Keith Werner as New CIO
Keith Werner is departing his role with the University of North Carolina System Office to take on a new challenge as chief information officer at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. Werner currently serves as the UNC System Office’s vice president of information technology strategy and cybersecurity.
SAP Names Philipp Herzig as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer
SAP is reorganizing its AI activities. Philipp Herzig, formerly head of cross-product engineering and experience, now leads a new “end-to-end growth area” focused on AI as the company’s chief artificial intelligence officer (CAIO). Herzig now reports directly to CEO Christian Klein and will oversee the entire value chain for SAP business AI from research and product development through to implementation at the customer.
CrateDB Names Sergery Gerrasimenko as New CTO
CrateDB, the enterprise database offering instant insights into any type of data, announced that Sergey Gerasimenko, former VP of Engineering at MongoDB, has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Gerasimenko will be responsible for leading the company’s technology strategy and driving innovation across the company’s product portfolio. He will also oversee the development and execution of the company’s engineering roadmap, as well as support the company’s growth initiatives.
UT Medical Center Names Lynnette Clinton as New CIO
Lynnette Clinton has been named senior vice president and CIO at Knoxville-based University of Tennessee Medical Center. Ms. Clinton previously served as vice president of applications and interim CIO at Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System and in IT leadership at Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network.
HCA Healthcare Names Chad Wasserman as new CIO
HCA Healthcare, a prominent healthcare service provider, has announced the appointment of Chad Wasserman as the new senior vice president and chief information officer. Wasserman succeeds P. Martin Marty Paslick, who is retiring after a 38-year tenure with the company. Wasserman, who has been with HCA Healthcare for nearly three decades, will oversee the Information Technology Group (ITG), which includes more than 6,700 colleagues. His responsibilities will encompass global IT strategy and the implementation of solutions such as infrastructure, cloud computing, automation, and data engineering, as well as overseeing software development, enterprise systems, and clinical technology initiatives.
Vantage Towers Names Tobias Steinig as New CIO
Vantage Towers has appointed Tobias Steinig as chief information officer. Steinig, who took up his role at the company on February 1, has been tasked with “leading the digital transformation” of the European tower operator, which is majority-owned by Vodafone. Steinig will also be responsible for standardizing the groupwide IT landscape and will report to CEO Christian Hillabrant.
Border States Names Jason Stein as New CIO
Jason Stein has been named chief information officer at Border States. Stein previously held the role of executive VP, sales and marketing, and brings nearly 30 years of experience with Border States to this new role.
