In January 2024, many corporations hired new Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs). Today, we will focus on 10 CIOs and CTOs that accepted new positions to start their new year off.

National Science Foundation Names Terry Carpenter as New CIO

The National Science Foundation announced a major reorganization of its IT functions, including the appointments of a new chief information officer, chief technology officer, chief data officer and assistant CIO for artificial intelligence in support of the 2022 CHIPS Act. Terry Carpenter will take over the key role of CIO and CTO for the NSF, marking the establishment of a new independent and consolidated Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

InvestCloud Names James Young as New CIO

InvestCloud, a global wealth management software leader announced the appointment of James Young as its Chief Information Officer. responsible for the company’s technology strategy, product development, and operations. The announcement comes on the heels of a number of senior leadership appointments, as InvestCloud continues to redefine the future of wealth and serve a large global client base, supporting more than $6.4 trillion of assets under management across its platforms.

Casa Systems Names Santanu Dasgupta as New CTO

Santanu Dasgupta

Casa Systems, a market leader in cloud-native network solutions serving Tier 1 and regional service providers worldwide announced the appointment of telecom industry leader Santanu Dasgupta as Chief Technology Officer.

Santanu brings 25 years of telecom, cloud, and networking expertise from leadership roles at Google, Cisco, and Wipro Limited. At Google, he served as Head of Product, Telco Network Modernization, where he led its Telecom Access business, including product engineering, solutions, partnerships, the acquisition of several lighthouse customers, and innovations that set new cross-organization standards.

ANSER Names John Lambeth as New CIO

John Lambeth

John Lambeth, former Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Maximus has been named CIO at the research, analysis, and client-side support organization Analytic Services Inc (ANSER). As a key member of ANSER’s senior leadership he will provide strategic alignment between information technologies (IT), business strategy, and company values and culture.

SJI Names Barbara Romano as New CIO

Barbara Romano

In 2017, Folsom-based SJI appointed its first chief information officer. Now, the company will name the first woman to the position. The energy infrastructure holding company announced that Barbara Romano has been promoted to the role. She succeeds Leonard Brinson Jr., who is retiring at the end of the month.

Bozeman Health Names Vasanth Balu as New CIO

Bozeman Health has named Vasanth Balu as its new CIO. Mr. Balu, who started in the role Jan. 2, will oversee and provide guidance to the information technology department, ensuring smooth operations and optimal support for the organization’s leadership, clinicians, staff and patients.

Arch Insurance Names Prabhu Venkataraman as New CIO

Arch Insurance North America announced the appointment of Prabhu Venkataraman as Chief Information Officer.

In this role, Venkataraman is responsible for leading technology implementation and services across the segment, with a particular focus on strategic alignment, data enablement and empowering the business. He reports to Prashant Nema, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Arch Capital Services LLC and Brian First, President of Arch Insurance North America.

BrandSafway Names Eileen White as New SVP and CIO

Eileen White

BrandSafway, a leading provider of access and specialty services to industrial, commercial and infrastructure markets, has appointed Eileen White as SVP and Chief Information Officer effective March 31. In this role, White will lead digital optimization efforts and execute strategic initiatives to transform information technology services globally.

Bread Financial Names Allegra Driscoll as New CTO

US-based fintech BrandSafway, formerly Alliance Data, has named Allegra Driscoll as its new executive vice president (EVP) and chief technology officer (CTO). Driscoll says she will work with the team to “advance enterprise technology priorities” as the fintech looks to grow its private-label credit card offering and payment, lending and saving solutions for e-commerce merchants. She joins directly from American Express where, most recently, she led its global commercial services unit as senior vice president (SVP) and chief information officer (CIO).

Mount Sinai Health System Names Bruce Darrow as New Interim CIO

Mount Sinai Health System recently announced the appointment of Bruce Darrow, MD, PhD, as the new interim Chief Information Officer (CIO). This decision comes in the wake of the departure of the former CIO, Kristin Myers, who has moved to Northwell Health. As the interim CIO, Dr. Darrow will play a crucial role in overseeing the health system’s technology and digital strategy.
