Best Buy recruited Walgreens EVP and CIO Neal Sample to serve as its chief digital, analytics and technology officer. Sample joined Walgreens as a technology consultant in October 2023 and was appointed as CIO the following month. Prior to his stint with the retail pharmacy chain, Sample served as Northwestern Mutual’s CIO for nearly three years, guiding the insurer’s IT team through the hybrid workforce challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

State Street Names Andrew Zitney as New CIO

State Street tapped Andrew Zitney to serve as executive vice president and chief information officer. Zitney, a State Street veteran, served for five years as the bank’s chief technology officer and became interim CIO following the departure of Brian Franz, who moved to Estée Lauder, where he now serves as chief technology, data and analytics officer.
Hamilton Insurance Names Raymond Karrenbauer as New CIO

Hamilton Insurance Group has appointed Raymond Karrenbauer as its new group chief information officer (CIO). In the new role, Karrenbauer will be responsible for overseeing the company’s IT strategy. Karrenbauer’s previously worked for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (The Cyber AB), where he held the positions of executive vice-president and CFO from 2021, and was also in charge of oversight for IT.
