Walgreens Names Neal Sample as New EVP and CIO
Walgreens Boots Alliance appointed Neal Sample as EVP and CIO effective immediately, the company said Wednesday. Sample will also join the company’s executive and IT governance committees. Sample brings two decades of leadership experience to the retail pharmacy company, including C-suite stints at Express Scripts and Northwestern Mutual.
SECNAV Del Toro Names Jane Rathnun as New CIO
Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Carlos Del Toro announced that he has selected Jane Rathbun to serve as the Department of the Navy Special Assistant for Information Management and Chief Information Officer.
City of Santa Monica Names Paula Crowell as New CIO
City Manager David White announced the appointment of Paula Crowell as chief information officer to lead the city’s Information Services Department, following a nationwide recruitment. Crowell has more than 20 years of experience in information technology, most recently serving as the director of information services for the Long Beach Utilities Department. She previously served as the IT manager for the city of Temecula and as IT director for the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission in Washington, D.C.
Citigroup Names Jonathan Lofthouse as New Co-CIO Amid Layoffs
Citigroup has named Jonathan Lofthouse as its new co-chief information officer. Lofthouse has been with Citigroup for 26 years, previously held the position of global head of markets and enterprise financial risk technology.
AIG Names Roshan Navagamuwa as New EVP and CIO
American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has appointed CVS Health’s Roshan Navagamuwa as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective January 1st, 2024. Navagamuwa’s remit as CIO includes being responsible for AIG’s global technology and cybersecurity strategy, managing core infrastructure, technology partnerships, and process engineering efforts.
Colorado Governor Names David Edinger as Statewide CIO
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced he picked David Edinger, Denver’s former chief information officer, to serve as statewide CIO and lead the state’s Office of Information Technology as its executive director.
Bunker Holding Group Names Morten Gade Christensen as New CIO
Bunker Holding Group puts new CIO Morten Gade Christensen in charge of the organization’s IT department. With a strong background in fintech and energy industries, Morten Gade Christensen is set to expand on the Group’s external digital solutions. He supersedes the former CIO Peer Omann.
Princeton University Names Daren Hubbard as New VP for IT and CIO
Princeton University named Daren Hubbard as its vice president for information technology and chief information officer, effective Jan. 3, 2024. Hubbard will succeed James “Jay” Dominick, who has served in this role since 2012. Hubbard has more than 25 years of leadership in higher education and strategy, having served as vice president of information technology and CIO at Georgia Tech since September 2020 and previously as associate vice president and CIO at Wayne State University.
Virginia Tech Names Sharon Putt as New VP for IT and CIO
Virginia Tech’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Amy Sebring has announced, following ratification by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors, that Sharon P. Pitt will become the university’s next vice president for information technology and chief information officer, effective Feb. 1, 2024.
Autosled Names David Darden as New CIO
Autosled announced the promotion of David Darden to Chief Information Officer. In this role, David leads Autosled’s IT staff, oversees its systems and operations, and is responsible for the company’s software development. A seasoned engineering and analytics leader, David brings over 20 years of experience in the technology industry with companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. An employee of the company since 2021, he most recently served as the company’s vice president of data and analytics.
