Microsoft Teams Adds the Ability to Send Short Video Clip Messages

To deepen the concept of enriched collaboration within Teams, Microsoft is launching collaborative annotations and video clip.

To make meetings more collaborative, users often rely on Microsoft Whiteboard to draw or react to the content being shared. Now, the new collaborative annotations feature leverages the strength of the Whiteboard to allow for input, discussion and engagement on any content shared via screen share in Teams meetings.

Microsoft Teams Video Clip

Video clip is a new feature in chat that allows you to capture and share a short video message on desktop or mobile, delivering a more personalized message. Simply click record, edit using the sliders, and send it to your recipient to view at their convenience.

Video Clip is one of a handful of updates to Microsoft’s collaboration platform unveiled during Inspire, including many new features to enhance the AI-powered hybrid work experience.

Another feature includes Excel Live, which lets people collaborate on workbooks in real-time in Teams meetings. With Excel Live, the Microsoft Teams meeting window itself becomes the canvas, so anyone in the meeting can jump in and edit a workbook right there, without ever leaving the meeting screen. This builds on the recent announcement of Live Share in Teams, which allows participants to collaborate in apps directly within the Teams meeting window. Independent software vendors (ISVs) and developers can also easily build apps for Live Share using new extensions in the Teams SDK.
