Quarter two of 2024 has just started, and many Chief Information Officers have accepted new positions. Today, IT Executives Council will focus on 13 CIOs that have accepted new positions in April 2024.

Follet Higher Education Names Mani Suri as New CIO

Mani Suri

Respected technology and infrastructure expert Mani Suri has been named the new Chief Information Officer for Follett Higher Education Group, North America’s largest campus retailer. Prior to joining Follett, Suri served as Chief Information Officer at Ulta Beauty, where he played an integral role in modernizing in-store and digital experiences for customers. Previously, Suri was Chief Information Officer for 7 Eleven and modernized the company’s global retail platform.

Brown University Names Christopher Keith as New CIO

Brown University’s announced that the university’s assistant chief information officer is being promoted to lead the college’s information technology department. Christopher Keith first joined the university in 2007 as director of information technology and has held several roles since, including director of enterprise applications and software engineering. He starts as the university’s chief information officer and vice president for information technology on May 1.

BCBS Minnesota Names Melissa Flicek as New CIO

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has named Melissa Flicek as Chief Information Officer. Ms. Flicek was most recently chief technology Officer at Optum. Prior to Optum, Ms. Flicek held leadership roles at Medtronic and Target Corporation. She will oversee BCBS Minnesota’s business technology, cybersecurity and data and analytics efforts.

Nebraska Names Matthew J. McCarville as New CIO

Matthew J. McCarville

Matthew J. McCarville, a technology leader in education and state government, has been tapped by Gov. Jim Pillen to serve as Nebraska’s next CIO. McCarville’s responsibilities will include managing a $70 million annual appropriations budget and overseeing the state’s enterprise applications and infrastructure, while leading a service-oriented IT organization.

Silicon Labs Names Radhika Chennakeshavula as New CIO

Silicon Labs Radhika Chennakeshavula

Silicon Labs, a company specializing in secure, intelligent wireless technology, has announced the appointment of Radhika Chennakeshavula as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), set to take her post on April 24, 2024. Chennakeshavula’s role will be pivotal in steering the company’s digital transformation strategy and managing IT operations, including enterprise applications and data analytics.

Vermont State Names John Toney as New CISO

John Toney

The state of Vermont has appointed John Toney, a former global chief information security officer for Dallas-based City Electric Supply, as its chief information security officer (CISO). Toney joins his new role with over twenty years of information security experience.

Sax Names Rob Owen as New CIO

Rob Owen

Rob Owen was hired as the first chief information officer and practice leader of Sax Technology Advisors, at Sax, Parsippany.

FirstRand Group Names Dido wa Kalonji as New CIO

Dido wa Kalonj

Dido wa Kalonji has been named as the new Chief Information Officer of the FirstRand group company, FNB Eswatini, which has been in business in the Swazi kingdom since 1995. Dido will be in charge of the bank’s technology as CIO and exco member.

Noblis’ Names Ed Lee as New Deputy CIO

Ed Lee has joined Noblis as vice president and deputy chief information officer. With more than 25 years of experience in the IT and government contracting industry, Lee brings a focus on operations, enterprise architecture, cloud services and cybersecurity.

Capital Bank Names Anguel Lindarev as New CIO

Capital Bank, a prominent commercial bank in the DC Metro Region, announced the appointment of Anguel Lindarev as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). With over two decades of experience in the technology sector, Lindarev is tasked with leading the bank’s IT strategies in alignment with its overarching goals for innovation and growth.

Missouri S&T Names Barry Robbins as New CIO

Barry Robbins, managing partner with Silver Bear Solutions, in Atlanta, has been named chief information officer (CIO) at Missouri S&T. Robbins has national and international experience in IT organizations that deal with fintech, health care, finance, retail, manufacturing and government. His experience includes serving as a leader for Shaw Industries, Home Depot, the City of Charlotte in North Carolina, and IBM.

Vanderbilt University Names Shane Callahan as New CIO

Shane Callahan, an experienced leader in technology and information security, has been named Vanderbilt University’s chief information officer. He had been Vanderbilt’s first chief information security officer since January 2022. His new role at the university starts on April 1, 2024. Vanderbilt’s chief information officer is the senior leader responsible for the coordination of the information technology function across the university. The CIO is charged with providing strategic and operational leadership throughout the enterprise in all aspects of information technology planning that advance the Vanderbilt mission and facilitate the operation of the university.

Peraton Names Tom Terjesen as New SVP, CIO

Tom Terjesen

Peraton has appointed Tom Terjesen as senior vice president and chief information officer. In this role, Terjesen will lead Peraton’s IT organization and its strategy to ensure proactive and consistent technology support to growth, financial, employee experience and operational objectives.
